Kindiki Kithure Claims Ruto's Persecution Has Earned Him 2 Million Extra Votes

Tharaka Nithi senator Kindiki Kithure has argued that Deputy President William Ruto's persecution by his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta has earned him the support of two million more voters.
Kithure was speaking in reference to Ruto being sidelined in the running of the Jubilee government after the March 2018 handshake which drove a wedge between him and the president.
Taking to his Facebook on Monday, July 5, the former Senate deputy Speaker said former prime minister Raila Odinga has so far lost 50% of his traditional votes due to his involvement with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Additionally, the Tanga Tanga lawmaker added that with Uhuru picking on his deputy, he had soiled his legacy as it will always be remembered that he persecuted those who supported him.
"DP Ruto’s persecution by Jubilee since 2018 has added him roughly two million new votes. ex-pm Odinga lost over 50% of his traditional votes due to his entanglement with the unfortunate “BBI” project," he said."The president in opening an unnecessary war with his deputy has lost nothing since he is retiring next year, except that his would-be legacy has gone up in smoke," he added.BBI is dead
Kithure's sentiments came just a day after his fellow Tanga Tanga politician David Sankok said the country should move forward as the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was dead.
The Tanga Tanga lawmaker said with the current situation, there will be no referendum this year as the popular initiative was already dead and its chances of surviving through the court of appeal were very minimal.

Sankok said the hustler nation had always known that BBI had slim chances of succeeding further adding that their competitors should focus on looking for voters ahead of 2022, or else risk being defeated by Ruto who is already campaigning for his presidential bid.
